The dashboard saved your widget display preferences in two separate places — once as you changed them, and once again when the page closed. The second copy had fallen out of step with the first and was writing an older, shorter list of settings over the top of the newer one.
In practice that meant a handful of choices — the dividend split's grouping and metric, the legend's grouping, and any custom widget titles — could survive until you closed the tab and then quietly revert. Both saves now write the same complete set, so what you pick is what you get back.
