The old trial was 14 days and asked for a card before it started. Most people never got as far as entering one, so most never saw what Investor does. The trial is now two calendar months of Investor, started from your account with one button and no payment details.
If you don't subscribe when it ends, your account goes back to the free plan. You can only take the trial once, and converting to a paid plan is the ordinary checkout, so a card is only asked for at that point.
