GLOSSARY

Portfolio Dividend Yield

Portfolio Metrics

IN PLAIN ENGLISH

The income your portfolio throws off relative to what it is worth today. Unlike Annual Yield — which uses what you paid — this moves whenever prices move, so a market fall pushes it up even though your income has not changed.

FULL DEFINITION

Projected annual dividend income as a percentage of current portfolio market value.

EXAMPLE

Annual Dividend of £1,200 on a portfolio worth £30,000. Portfolio Dividend Yield = 4.0%.

HOW IT'S CALCULATED

Portfolio Dividend Yield = Annual Dividend ÷ Total Value × 100. When Total Value is zero the app falls back to Annual Yield, which divides by Total Cost instead.
