GLOSSARY

Total Assets

Portfolio Metrics

IN PLAIN ENGLISH

Everything you own that SquirrelStocks knows about, added up in one number — before subtracting anything you owe.

FULL DEFINITION

The combined value of everything you track in the app: your holdings, cash, crypto, precious metals, collectible cards, property, pensions, bonds and any other assets you have entered.

EXAMPLE

Holdings worth £18,000, £2,000 of cash, £3,000 in crypto wallets and a £250,000 home. Total Assets = £273,000.

HOW IT'S CALCULATED

Total Assets = holdings value + Total Cash + crypto + property + pensions + bonds + precious metals + collectible cards + other assets. Holdings value is your whole portfolio's current value (a widget stock filter does not apply). Collectible cards are Collectible Card Value and precious metals Precious Metal Value, each added once priced in your portfolio currency and otherwise left out with a note, like the wallets. Total Cash and Wallet Value are the same figures the Balance Sheet's Cash and Crypto views show, including their rules for what is left out. Crypto is Wallet Value plus any crypto balance you typed in; the wallets are only added once they are valued in your portfolio currency — while they are loading, if there is no exchange rate, if you are logged out or if valuation fails, they are left out and the widget says so. Property, pensions, bonds and other assets are entered on the Portfolio page and taken at face value in your portfolio currency. Property counts at its full value here; its mortgage is a liability.
