LESSON 2.11 · FOUNDATION

Why a tenner a month in dividends is a real milestone

The first income that arrives without you doing anything.

DIVIDENDS2 MIN READ

Ten pounds a month won't change your life. What it changes is the direction the money flows. For the first time something you own is paying you, on its own schedule, whether or not you opened the app. That's dividend income, and it's the start of passive income — passive meaning you don't work for each payment, not that it's guaranteed.

It's a milestone, not a forecast. Dividends can be cut, prices can fall, and a tenner a month today says nothing about what next year pays. What it does show is that you've got the machinery working: you know what the ex-date is for, when the cash lands, and where to see it. Every milestone after this one is the same thing at a larger size.
