Widget settings that start from the whole portfolio, and filters for everything you own

Every widget's settings now ask the same questions in the same order, split into Data, Filters and Appearance. Filters reach every asset class, not just stocks.

Widget settings used to differ from widget to widget, and stocks were treated as a separate thing from the rest of what you own. They now follow one flow: pick the whole portfolio or one asset class, then which class (stocks are just one of them), then what to measure and how to break it down. Each step only appears once the one above is answered, and only with the choices that widget has data for.

The settings are grouped into labelled sections so it is clear what each choice does: Data changes the numbers, Filters leave things out, Appearance only changes how the widget looks.

The phone app's widget settings follow the same flow and have the same filters, for the widgets the app has.

Filters for every asset class

Each widget can now leave out whole asset classes, single items in any class (a cash account, a wallet, a card, a metal, a property or a debt), and stocks by holding, sector or trading currency. A widget only offers the filters that apply to what it is showing, and shows Filtered in its header while any are on.

Bar Chart: hide the total

The Bar Chart has an Appearance option to remove the Total line under the bars, and another to remove the figure written on each bar.

The Legend lists any asset class

The shared Legend could only list stocks, sectors or currencies. It now uses the same steps as the charts, so it can list asset classes, every asset, or the accounts, wallets, cards, metals and other assets in a class, in the colours the matching Pie or Bar Chart gives each piece.
