Property portfolio tracker

A property portfolio tracker for your home and your buy-to-lets

Add your home, a buy-to-let or land. You enter what each one is worth and update it whenever you choose; Squirrel doesn't value property for you. Add the mortgage against it and Squirrel counts the equity, in the same net worth view as everything else you own.

Free forever on Learner. Investor features free for 2 months, no card needed.

How you add it

  1. The property

Give it a name and the value you put on it. Change the value whenever you like; it stays exactly as you left it until you do.

  2. The mortgage

Enter what is still outstanding on the mortgage. It is recorded as a debt against that property, so the equity is what counts towards your net worth.

What you see

  • Equity, property by property

Each property's value, the mortgage against it and the equity left once the mortgage is taken off.

  • Property in your net worth

How much of your net worth is property, beside your shares, savings, pensions and everything else.

  • What you own against what you owe

A balance sheet widget with your assets on one side and your debts, mortgages included, on the other.

Why one place

Property is often most of what someone owns, yet it rarely sits in the same place as their investments. Squirrel puts the equity in your home and buy-to-lets in one view with everything else, so your net worth adds up.

Questions

Does Squirrel value my property?
No. The value is the figure you enter, and it stays as you left it until you change it.
Can I add more than one property?
Yes. Add each one separately, each with its own mortgage if it has one.
Do I have to link my mortgage?
No. Mortgages are entered by hand; there is nothing to link.
Is it on the free plan?
Yes. Property can be added on every plan.
