GLOSSARY

Card Holding Price Move

Portfolio Metrics

IN PLAIN ENGLISH

Which of your cards have been going up or down lately, whatever you paid for them — the market's recent move rather than your gain.

FULL DEFINITION

How far a collectible card's market price rose or fell over the last 7 or 30 days, times the copies you hold.

EXAMPLE

You hold 2 copies of a card that was $10 a week ago and is $12 today: the move is 2 × ($12 − $10) = $4, converted to your currency, which is +20%.

HOW IT'S CALCULATED

Move = copies × (today's market price for your printing − its price on the first day of the window), at today's exchange rate so it shows the card market moving rather than your currency. % = (price today − price then) ÷ price then × 100. The window is the last 7 or 30 days counted back from the most recent price TickerMint has for any of your cards. A card you bought inside the window is measured from the day you bought it, so what it did before you owned it isn't counted. The totals (Worth then, Worth now, Moved) add up only the cards that could be measured, so the three always describe the same cards. A card TickerMint hasn't priced yet, has no price for your printing, has no price as far back as the window starts, hasn't been priced during the window, or that you bought too recently to have moved is left out and counted in a note, never guessed. Unlike Card Gain/Loss it needs no paid value, and it is the market's move, not your profit: it ignores what you paid and any copies you sold. Prices are TickerMint's daily TCGplayer market prices.
